"A snowstorm in late May 1979 plunged Telluride, Colorado, back into winter. I processed the Hasselblad negatives in a new tank that had more room for the spool to slide back and forth. Consequently, the film edges were overdeveloped. This gave me the idea of emphasizing the mystery of this little mountain town by completely fading out the sides of the negative as well as the top and bottom – a simple vignette. This is my most popular photograph from my Telluride material." - Bill Ellzey
